OMNI Television is looking for a determined, qualified individual to fill the full-time position of Anchor for our Punjabi News shows. This position will report directly to the Supervising Producer.



  • Accountable for on-air delivery of scripted and non-scripted news 
  • Research, generate, produce and present compelling and accurate news stories
  • Liaise with reporters, editors, camera crew and producers with respect to content and story development
  • Set the highest standards for journalistic and broadcast excellence
  • Engage with viewers and community daily by posting news information on social media
  • Meet audience information needs, striving to increase viewership
  • Participate in promotional and charity events as directed by OMNI Television
  • Build a strong community network
  • Other duties as required




  • A creative vision and keen editorial judgment
  • Excellent knowledge of domestic and international news and current affairs
  • In-depth understanding of OMNI Television’s content priorities
  • 3 years experience working as a news reporter or producer
  • Superior writing and interviewing skills in Punjabi and English
  • Able to write/type in Gurmukhi
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Knowledge of Inception and Quantel software or similar newsroom software is an asset
  • A strong social media presence
  • Fluent in the digital news space with an ability to identify trending stories on social media
  • Strong community contacts would be an asset
  • Degree or diploma in journalism or broadcasting
  • Proven record of working in a team atmosphere
  • Work well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Must be available to work shifts and weekends

Travel Requirements: Up to 10%
