Rogers is seeking a Business Intelligence Support Analyst to support analytical platform and services.  Reporting to the Manager, BI Analytics and Infrastructure at the Rogers Brampton Campus, this role will be responsible for supporting and maintaining various analytical applications.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for all aspects of application support functions for servers, user administration and security administration for SAS.
  • Good experience in writing SAS code and Troubleshooting SAS code.
  • Experience in automation of Jobs and processes.
  • Serve as a technical expert providing input to application design regarding environment, tuning, and administration requirements for SAS
  • Experience in SAS9.4 product will be considered an asset
  • Understanding of PL/SQL and Oracle Database will be considered as an asset.
  • Understanding of Microsoft BI Tools.
  • Perform and schedule software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Determine priorities and define solution - what should be done and how to do it. This is applicable to projects/reports developed by internal and external development teams.
  • Support SAS system and related infrastructures by resolving escalated and technically complex trouble tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to understand IT concepts deeply to assist more senior analysts in their role and quickly learn complex systems administration.
  • Maintain optimal performance of the application by conducting performance monitoring and tuning activities; utilize knowledge of best practices and industry standards to make recommendations regarding performance.
  • Complete documentation of the tool and associated processes as required.
  • Provide on-call 24×7 Production support as needed, on rotation

 

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related degree focus with atleast 7 years in IT industry.
  • 3+ years of Unix Administration and Windows Server in telecommunication industry
  • Expert understanding of four or more of the following: AIX, SAS, SAS Management Console, SAS EG, SAS Contextual Analysis, SAS Visual Analytics, SAS High performance Analytics.
  • Understanding SAS architecture and ability to write queries of moderate severity in SAS
  • Broad understanding of Application Development and Support
  • Understanding of Monitoring tools such as Sitescope, HPD, Tivoli
  • Familiarity with AIX, Linux, Tomcat and Apache Servers
  • Technical Acumen and desire for learning new technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
