Rogers has an exciting opportunity if you are passionate about technology.  Be a part of a dynamic team responsible for driving forward our portfolio of brands while championing DevOps across the organization.  Aside from your technical skills, you’re a leader that’s passionate about DevOps and enjoy coaching others and spreading the culture.  As an Automation Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT to drive infrastructure automation, self-healing and efficiencies across our Cloud infrastructure.  This is a unique opportunity to work with leading-edge technologies in a fast-paced environment within a large organization.




  • Architect solutions and platforms to work across diverse workloads
  • Conduct proof-of-concepts and reviews of new platform technologies and participate in the selection and building of tools and processes to support the infrastructure.
  • Create a multiplier effect; design compliance and security measures that work out of the box for new and existing teams
  • Develop and improve tools for provisioning and CI/CD including full automated testing and release management
  • Develop strategies in conjunction with Operation and Development team initiatives including containerization, auto-scaling and self-healing systems
  • Develop secure, automated standards and documents using configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef in a multi-cloud, multi-tenant environment.
  • Improve server and application provisioning automation, developing new, and sustaining existing capabilities, using automated configuration management frameworks and Infrastructure-as-code.




  • Hands on experience in an Agile Enterprise DevOps environment.
  • Hands on experience using Ansible, Terraform and other configuration management tools.
  • Hands on applied Python coding is a must
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices
  • Infrastructure as Code experience
  • Passion for emerging technologies and love keeping up with the latest technology trends.
  • Customer centric, and realize the value of providing excellent customer service.
  • Ecstatic about automation, and familiar with end-to-end build and deployment processes. 
  • Strong written and oral communications skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of users/management
  • Strong organization skills, interpersonal skills and excellent attention to details
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, make decisions, solve problems and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work independently and within a team on multiple simultaneous tasks within a challenging fast paced customer-oriented environment.


Thorough understanding of Internet architectures;


  • 5+ years’ System Administration experience in a large-scale, multi-OS (Linux/Windows), high-availability environments
  • 3+ years’ experience in test driven software development, demonstrating high-level programming capability in languages such as Python, Ruby, Java or Perl
  • 2+ years’ experience with configuration management and automation frameworks including working with Chef, Ansible, Terraform or Puppet
  • 2+ years’ experience working with continuous integration and deployment tools; establish build and test pipelines through Jenkins
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining large enterprise production systems on cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) in a variety of distributed environments and familiarity interacting with the APIs.
  • Experience with revision control systems and usage for managing systems configuration: Git, SVN etc.
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure SMB/NFS, key-based auth; DNS; familiar with basic networking concepts: switching, routing, OSI network layers, firewalls, load-balancing at various layers, SMTP, HTTP, SSL, SSH, AD, LDAP, VPN
  • Strong understanding of containerization & orchestration: Docker, CoreOS, Kubernetes, auto-scaling and self-healing systems.
