In the role of Data Architect, you will be responsible for interpreting business requirements into Information requirements, develop and maintain data definitions, information models and metadata.You will be involved in analyzing business and technical requirements and take the lead in translating high level and details requirements into conceptual, logical and physical models. The role will require demonstrable hands on expertise in Information modeling for complex Data Warehouses both in the relational and Hadoop eco system combined with business acumen and deep understanding of information design patterns used in multiple reporting, analytical and predictive modeling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the collaborative development of Information architecture, develop and apply standards and guidelines for information ingestion, information delivery, information presentation and publishing standards and patterns.
  • Establish guiding principles, architectural decisions and publish interfaces across various Data layers – Landing, ODS, Data Marts, to be consumed for ad-hoc and pre-canned analysis and reporting, predictive modelling using machine learning patterns with Python and R libraries.
  • Support various warehousing projects by designing conceptual, logical and physical models including data services, metadata management and data publishing within the context of the Enterprise Information Architecture.
  • Document business informational requirements and business rules, within the context of the Data Architecture in the information models including meta data definitions..
  • Ensure that DW/BI standards and guidelines are used to develop the information models and database designs. Implement data governance strategy, establish and enforce standards and processes to ensure proper use of data.
  • Work with the DBA’s and platform architects to assess database design patterns for performance requirements and to ensure scalability, supportability, usability and integrity.
  • Act as the architecture lead in working with other vendors in a Data Warehouse implementation projects in the Hadoop and Exadata platforms.

What you have to offer:

  • In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing concepts, architecture and building blocks
  • Advanced working knowledge of Exadata and Hadoop platforms (Hortonworks or Cloudera) and key technologies like Nifi, Sqoop, Spark, Hive, NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra or Hbase.
  • Integration services/tools such as Informatica, DataStage, Enterprise Data lake ingestion

    tools using ETL/ELT concepts

  • Practical experience in implementing data governance strategy, and standards for data quality, metadata management, data stewardship, security, and access controls.
  • 10+ years of experience in the design and development of data warehousing, reporting and analytics technology solutions
  • 7+ years of experience in the role of Data Architect and knowledge of establishing Big Data standards on Hadoop (Hortonworks) and platforms such as Exadata, Netezza or Terradata
  • 2+ years of experience with the Hadoop stack (e.g. MapReduce, Spark, Sqoop, Pig, Hive, HBase, Kafka)
  • 2+ years of related experience in big data architecture
