Rogers is seeking a Director, Digital Cross Channel Application Development reporting to the VP, Digital IT Capabilities, Customer Experience IT.  This position will be based out of our Brampton campus with travel to our Toronto office as required.  The Director will partner with our business unit’s leadership teams to provide thought leadership to build out Digital Channel capabilities and a technology roadmap that aligns to the product and sales strategies.  This position requires a person with a strong technical Digital background with experience leading Digital solutions and designs that provide a brilliant digital experience.  The successful candidate will possess strong digital technology skills and business acumen to drives results, and has the ability to lead through influence, building strong relationships by working collaboratively with all levels of the organization.     
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
Responsible for understanding, planning, and leading the delivery of Multi Channel capabilities common to all business units
Works with Directors of Business Units to ensure that the channel capabilities built will meet the Rogers business goals and objectives
Proactive engagement with SLT and Directors/teams to understand ongoing product strategy and related IT needs of the business units
Manage request for the Cross Channel capabilities that are common across business units for IT applications spanning all business units through active collaboration and communication with IT SLT and Directors
Lead a team of developers and subject matter experts in solution designs, and development of common capabilities from Digital, Care and Retail organizations
Understanding Care and Retail agent workflows and how they relate to Consumer capabilities
Develop and Deliver the best solution to support Care, Retail and multi-channel capabilities
Lead and manage Care & Retail channels and self service Integrations to deliver high available solutions
Develop & deliver long-term strategy roadmaps for the Cross Channel capabilities
Focus on rapid and cost effective development and deployment strategies including agile methodologies
Develop the relationships with the Hubs and partner groups
Ensure performance and stability criteria are met for all development and delivery commitments
Select technology and vendors to deliver to roadmap
Ensure scope and business requirements are clean and managed effectively between Digital hubs and Digital Capabilities
Uses design principles in creating complex custom software solutions.
Identifies the limits of the tools being used, strives for a deep understanding of and recommends alternative solutions, identifies and can clearly articulate the trade offs and impact.
 
Qualifications
 
Bachelor’s degree required degree in Computer Science or related field 
Certification within their area of specialization is required
Prior experience with rolling out cross channel capabilities in Telecom domain – involving care, retail and customer self serve organizations
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in application design development, systems integration, interactive design 
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
Experience with, and knowledge of multiple technologies including: Play/Akka, Angular 2.0, Oracle ATG CSC, Amdocs CRM, Cassandra, Apache Kafka, Cloud enablement, Akamai, Endeca, HP Teamsite / Livesite, Adobe CMS, BrightSpot CMS, J2EE, Oracle ESB, Weblogic server,
Experience with Performance tuning of eCommerce systems, and delivering highly available Multi channel solutions
