Director (Technical Director)

We are launching expansion of our Citytv news programming across the country, to deliver compelling locally relevant content to Canadians.  As an experienced Director, you know how to deliver a dynamic TV production.  As a proven tv professional, you know how to emphasize creativity over tradition. 



  • Responsible for switching live and pre-recorded productions in an automated Ross Overdrive equipped control room.
  • Operate Ross Vision video switcher with control of server animation playback.
  • Oversee audio mixing and output with proper understanding of Loudness Standards
  • Responsible for routing of video signals and monitor feeds
  • Ability to act as crew leader.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Ensure that programs and segments meet company and industry standards for content and quality.



  • At least 5 years experience switching live studio productions.
  • A strong understanding of all control room positions.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with intense pressure of multiple live shows per night.
  • Ability to adhere to, and work within, very tight timelines
  • Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well with others and as a strong team member.
