Reporting to the Senior Director, GM Data Centers, and working collaboratively with regional Sales VP’s and Leadership teams, the Director-Sales, Rogers Data Centers is accountable for managing and growing the Data Center and Cloud business and delivering on our strategic plan.


This role requires strong sales management leadership combined with a deep understanding of the Canadian IT industry, IT economics and the competitive landscape in the markets in which we compete. The successful candidate will balance aggressive sales targets while delivering an industry leading client experience and Rogers’ ability to execute in a profitable manner through collaborating with key stakeholders across the business.


What you will be doing:

  • Build a National team of Data Centre sales professionals that engages with clients to help drive their data center and cloud strategy.
  • Manage and grow the Data Center business nationally, aligning regional sales plans and budgets while delivering on our strategic plan
  • Ensure a collaborative environment between direct sales, sales specialists, solution architecture, product management, and operations at the deal level as well as interlocking on the product roadmap service development initiatives
  • Oversee and lead the development and management of regional sales plans and sales forecasts to direct sales initiatives across the regional account managers, specialist community, marketing and solution architecture stakeholders to drive profitable revenue growth
  • Drive opportunity qualification, pipeline management, proposal reviews and bid governance processes to ensure we are delivering value to our clients.
  • Ensures the proposed solutions can deliver the expected outcomes for our clients, and that pricing and Rogers’s profitability objectives are optimized
  • Manage and track regional sales performance across operational and financial metrics.
  • Helps the client navigate complex IT environments and adds value through creative approaches to Sourcing and Consumption model considerations. 
  • Provides regional market insight in support of Product and Marketing initiatives 
  • Leadership in mitigating churn, identifies and supports renewal activities and grows revenue with existing clients


What you bring:

  • Demonstrable experience with strong business acumen and technical aptitude in shaping clients IT strategy and buying decisions at the CIO/CFO level
  • Proven ability to build, develop and lead high performing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Sales Planning, Sales Management, Sales Forecasting and Budgeting
  • Ability to balance the needs of marketing and sales acting as a bridge between driving profitable growth, delivery capabilities and client experience
  • Advanced knowledge of business drivers, IT sourcing approaches, the outsourcing services marketplace, relevant trends and standards.
  • Strong understanding of IT service elements and components required to deliver IT services, articulate in IT Service Management Principles
  • Strong collaborator that can act as both a marketer and sales professional
  • Post-secondary degree
  • IT service provider and industry related sales certifications an asset
  • MBA is an asset
  • Experience selling Colocation. Cloud, Managed Services and Outsourcing services
  • Experience selling in a cross-matrix sales environment
  • 10+ years in a sales capacity in a technical environment
  • 7+ years of experience building an effective sales team
  • 5+ years of experience in a telecom environment is an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in a B2B sales environment
