Rogers is seeking an Information Security Advisor to support the Information & Cyber Security, Telcom Security function. Reporting to the Sr. Manager Risk Mgmt & Engagements at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, this individual will support the development of Information Security Telecommunication program.



  • Conduct Security Assessments, evaluating new threats and vulnerabilities and make recommendations aligned to Rogers Security Standards and Policies.
  • Perform Risk Assessments with firewall rule requests.
  • Conduct Firewall rule auditing, intrusion detection, and vulnerability analysis.
  • Demonstrate and apply strong project management, documentation and communication skills.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on a number of production security technologies and keep abreast of emerging security support technologies and industry trends.
  • Help develop Security Improvement Programs and develop processes across both IT and Network


Position Qualifications:

  • Must possess a working knowledge of security principles and industry best practices.
  • An understanding of network protocols and IP addressing & subneting.
  • Practical hands on experience with intrusion detection, event management and vulnerability analysis.
  • Experience with security testing tools, threat assessments and security testing methodologies.
  • Some knowledge of ethical hacking techniques and forensic analysis.
  • Practical working experience in Network Engineering/Operations roles.
  • Experience with server/application hardening and conforming to industry standards.
  • Completion of a BSc in Computer Science or Engineering, CISSP, GIAC, CISA,
  • CCSP, CCIE, MCSE, CCNA, CCNP or other security certifications a definite asset
  • Demonstrable understanding of how to network and develop working relationships with various key stakeholders
  • Strong business and technical acumen
  • Communicates effectively with meaningful and articulate verbal discussions. Creates clear and coherent written material. Synthesizes information into succinct, concise and logical summaries and reports.
  • Ability to work with teams to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Works well under pressure and time constraints and can prioritize competing priorities appropriately
