As a member of the Media Operations & Innovation department, the Media Support Specialist will ensure the successful daily operations of all properties including: Sportsnet, City, Radio, and all Mobile & Digital services by means of the new state-of-the-art Content Operations Facility, purpose-built for Rogers Media.  You will be responsible to monitor and maintain all Media platforms and applications, including the converged network that will transport all content coast-to-coast across Canada.  You will actively participate in the continuous improvement and integration of emerging technologies into an agile, flexible, and scalable broadcast ecosystem.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Monitor the overall health of all Rogers Media networks, platforms and applications, including Digital, internal and external, VOD, linear, and livestream.
  • Tier I & Tier II support for all network Incident and Event (Problem) Management - identify the problem condition, triage, isolation, dispensing appropriate actions to resolve [minor], and escalate [major] issues.
  • Actively work with your Media Architect peers to establish a continuous improvement ‘feedback loop’ – with the intent of planning and implementing resolutions to defects or inefficiencies in the monitoring environment.
  • Compliance Monitoring - Ensure adherence to CRTC regulations. – including but not limited to:  Audio Loudness violations, Described Video, Closed Captioning  (overlapping text, missing, garbled)


What you have:

  • Excellent communicator (written & oral).
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritize under pressure.
  • Relevant experience working in both legacy and new media environments.
  • Proficient in a combined Broadcast and IT skillset
  • Proficient in network Routing & Switching, broadcast video/audio codecs.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Calm, confident and keen to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Undergraduate degree is required.
  • 5-8 years related work experience.
  • Able to work shifts.
  • Able to work independently and as a team.
