Rogers is seeking a Program Manager to lead day to day testing and certification of mobile devices/projects.  Reporting to the Director, Certification & Monitoring, and this individual will be responsible for leading testing team activities to ensure overall quality and schedule adherence for projects.


What you will be doing:


  • Supports the development of new Consumer / Enterprise wireless products from concept stage through to ‘full’ product launch including internal and external testing.
  • Ensures overall quality and schedule adherence for projects, assesses health and readiness of applications and recommends appropriate resources to task.
  • Leads in the development and implementation of structured testing concepts, methodologies, and automated testing tools.
  • Leads and guides teams through testing initiatives.
  • Oversees day to day delivery of testing operations, including general direction for assigned area and 3rd party resources.
  • Manages development, reviews and approvals of test cases, test scripts and associated documentation; contributes and facilitates test readiness reviews.
  • Leads issue review meetings with technical account managers from OEM and Apps vendors.
  • Compiles and distributes project test reports; escalates outstanding or critical issues; conducts root cause analysis.
  • Serves as technical authority to other project team members in relevant work procedures, methodologies, environments, and applications.
  • Trains, motivates, and mentors peers within department;
  • Devises, recommends, and implements continuous improvements of the test prime function; identifies areas for automation; recommends standards.
  • Responsible for leading development, implementation, control, and distribution of practices; promotes understanding of the testing and disciplines.
  • Recognizes and identifies areas where policies and procedures need to be changed or developed.
  • Supervises Test Analysts on the creation of thorough and concise QA documentation
  • Develops, recommends, and implements continuous improvements of the Wireless Device Certification Process.
  • Serves as Testing Subject Matter Expert to project team members in testing process, procedure, methodologies and applications.
  • Other day-to-day activities or projects as outlined by the Manager


What you bring:


  • University degree, technical and/or business combination.
  • 7+ years of application deployment or wireless telecom experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in project management and/or product development.
  • Core telecom, internet, cable and media business knowledge is an asset.
  • Exposure to a wide variety of technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Good knowledge of Wireless Data applications, and Wireless Browsers.
  • Proven project management skills including ability to use project management tools.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments and provide technical information in a business format
  • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities, set expectations and get things done.
  • Excellent ability to communicate business and technical concepts, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple simultaneous tasks within a fast pace environment, yet a strong team player
  • Highly motivated individual with superior organisational and analytical skills.
