Promotions Coordinator

Country 107.1 and Star 98.3 are searching for a Promotions Coordinator to join their dynamic team for a one year maternity leave. Reporting to the Program Directors, this successful candidate adores radio and has been dreaming about working with a vibrant team to create, plan and execute innovative on-air contests, promotional campaigns, sales promotions and events.

 

The Promotions Coordinator will be responsible for a bazillion details that make a promotions department run smoothly. The successful candidate will be comfortable creating stunning digital content for websites, know their way around a design program and be fluent in creating engaging social media. Plus, they'll be a master with creating engagin proposals, coming up with ideas to get in the community and be able to create wicked promotional displays for events, on-locations while engaging the public as well.

What you will be Doing: 

  • Work with Program Directors in developing on-air contests, promotional campaigns + sales promotions
  • Coordinate listener contests and prizing
  • Writing proposals, promotional announcements and web content
  • Maintain a detailed promotional inventory and calendar
  • Maintain promotional signage, equipment, tech gear and station vehicles
  • Responsible for setting up and attending all major station promotions and designated client promotions as needed outside of office hours
  • Maintain & improve station community profile and activities
  • Attend and participate in weekly promo meetings
  • Maintain loyalty databases including sending out weekly newsletters, concert e-blasts and digital content
  • Daily updates to station websites, creation of contest graphics + creating and posting content to social media sites
  • On-site hosting at station and charity events
  • Occasional on-air opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Directors

 

What you Have: 

  • University degree, college diploma or equivalent in broadcasting or marketing or a related field
  • Must be highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Minimum 1-3 yrs. experience in conventional media, public relations, or communications field
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills, including a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to prioritize effectively
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, effectively and cooperatively in a team environment with a positive attitude
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to innovate, explore new ideas and acquire new skills
  • Previous street team, promotional or marketing experience an asset
  • A rock star at social media -- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Blogging
  • Experience with Photoshop/photo and video editing software would be an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision
  • Desire to learn and grow within the Promotion Department or broadcast industry
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends when required for promotional activity
  • Must be a pro with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work flexible hours and travel as requires
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
 
Schedule: Full Time
