We are currently seeking an exceptional individual for the following vacancy:

Purchaser (Temporary) - 100 Mile House, Bc - Exco Division

Norbord's Exco division is an engineering design and fabrication facility, located in 100 Mile House, BC. Reporting to the Site Manager, the Purchaser's role is to work together with internal resources to enable Exco to bring the best performing, highest quality products to its customers on time and on budget. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Backup for Reception: First point of contact with walk in customers, sales representative and telephone inquiries
Acquire cost estimates
Develop and issue scopes of tender to the supply chain
Evaluate all aspects of tender packages from vendors
Evaluate perspective  new vendors
Negotiate terms with vendors
Resolve sourcing and supply chain related issues
Administrate vendors in procurement system
Administrate resources in procurement system
Administrate inventory in procurement system
Organize material procurement and delivery for Exco's OEM products
Apply service and material costs to shop work orders
Champion routine physical inventory counts
Coordinate and engage all facilities services including but not limited to scrap, garbage snow removal, housekeeping, and building maintenance services
Report on purchasing and inventory activities to corporate entities
Participate in audits
Work closely with engineering, the shop floor and the job administrator to channel work through the shop and maintain the facilities
Manage logistics for materials and products, including customs documentation
Coordinate returned and replacement goods for orders as well as restocking fees
Interact with shipping / receiving staff to ensure that data entry is correct and complete
Accept new purchase orders for incoming jobs and file them into the production tracking system
Work with Shop Foreman to determine when "counter sales" work is complete and can be picked up

The ideal candidate will have experience in vendor relations, data entry, database management, customer service, work scheduling and the administration of projects in a production environment. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are a must to effectively participate in a team environment. A demonstrated commitment to working safely in a harassment free work environment will be essential.
