Rogers Radio Engineering has a permanent position available for a radio broadcast technician with proven industry experience. The successful candidate joins a team supporting a market-leading, four station cluster with studios in Vancouver and multiple studio and transmitter sites in other parts of British Columbia. This is a rare opportunity to succeed in an environment of rapidly converging media extending beyond traditional radio.
Primary responsibilities include:
• Maintenance, repair, design and installation of analog and digital broadcast studio systems, including automation systems, Microsoft\Linux workstations, servers, enterprise storage.
• Maintenance, repair, design and installation of AM and FM transmission systems, including microwave and associated subsystems
• Implementation of major and minor project timelines and Scope of Work.  Solid ability to design and implement new technology while providing progress updates.
• Providing technical support to Operations staff and support assistance for remote broadcasts.
• Partnering with other Rogers support and media divisions
• Sourcing and procurement of capital and operational materials.
• Creation and maintenance of detailed documentation in Microsoft Visio, Access and Excel
• Required rotating after-hours on call

The minimum qualifications include:
• Graduate of recognized Electronics Technician or Technologist program preferred.
• Three to five years' experience in radio broadcast engineering supporting studios and transmitters.
• Demonstrated competency with computers, networks, broadcast automation, AoIP and AM/FM radio transmission systems.
• Microsoft MCSE, Cisco, Arista certification as well as Network Function Virtualization, Software Defined Networking and Content Delivery Network are assets.
• Self-directed and driven to fulfill responsibilities with minimal oversight.
• A valid British Columbia driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Comfortable lifting 20 kilos and working on ladders.
• Qualified to work in Canada.
