The Rogers Information and Cyber Security Unit is seeking a highly motivated Senior Security Specialist to join our Cyber Protection Centre. This role is responsible for maintaining and advancing our existing cyber vulnerability management program through the continual review and development of Rogers Cyber security strategy, and vulnerability management process.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cyber Vulnerability Management, the Senior Security Specialist is part of a team accountable for reducing the probability of security incidents through advanced technical vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and application code review security controls.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

·       Hands-on practical experience is required to provide specific guidance to platform & application operators to ensure real world security against likely & plausible threats to Rogers.

·       Compile recurring security metrics for Management review.

·       Calibrate with cross-functional departments to identify and create action plans for infrastructure and application vulnerabilities.

·       Ability to conduct root cause analysis against vulnerabilities and determine feasible technical solutions.

·       Monitor progress, manage risk, and communicate with key stakeholders on progress and expected outcomes, and propose and take corrective action as appropriate.

·       Demonstrate and apply strong project management skills.

·       Operational experience with vulnerability management tools (e.g. Qualys) including the ability to deploy, configure, and run.

·       Develop and distribute regular reporting on current threats and threat intelligence.

·       Identify areas to implement continuous improvement of security and operational functions to support Information Security.

·       Knowledge of general cybersecurity concepts and methods including, but not limited to, vulnerability management, privacy, incident response, governance, risk and compliance, enterprise security strategies, and architecture.

Required Experience:

·       University degree or equivalent industry experience.

·       Experience with planning and executing penetration assessment through third parties.

·       Excellent communication, presentation and relationship skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics.

·       Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

·       Experienced with security and risk standards including ISO, NIST, ITIL, COBIT.

·       Strong understanding of regulatory controls related to security (e.g. SOX & PCI-DSS).

·       Ability to manage multiple complex deliverables in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

·       Excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills.

·       The successful candidate must hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as the CISSP or equivalent.
