We are looking for a Solution Manager who gets excited about challenges, seizes every opportunity to apply his or her knowledge, experience, and resourcefulness within the Rogers Technology Mobile App Development team.

 

Scope

 

This individual will own and drive the technical solution strategy and design of the Mobile App Roadmap. This role requires strong technical, Engineering, and Business knowledge as you will be responsible for working not only with technical stakeholders, but with Digital business partners. The successful candidate should have strong organizational and technical problem solving skills, excellent communication skills both written and oral, and solid relationship building skills, creative and design skills.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Support and build out the technical roadmap for the Mobile App portfolio by understanding the overall solution for the Mobile App Service strategy
  • Gather and analyzes requirements and use cases from internal stakeholders for mobile applications.
  • Assist in identifying non-­functional requirements, risk assessments, and providing assistance at all phases of a project from requirements to delivery.
  • Builds task lists and resource requirements for project builds to be shared and reviewed with the rest of the team.
  • Liaise with all relevant teams to plan and execute projects; providing assurance project scopes are accurately and adequately defined in relation to software development.
  • Responsible for the development of competitive costs for complex, multi-year opportunities which meet the internal customer's requirements
  • Develop and maintain a high degree of client ­specific knowledge and associated business systems knowledge commensurate with work experience
  • Delivery of all internal IT and Enterprise process documentation
  • Interface with all IT and Network for BSS\CSS roadmap for Mobile App Channel
  • Vendor selection, oversight, evaluation and management including contract development and negotiation
  • Timeline management, project and budget set­up and monitoring
  • Stay current with trends, techniques, technology and other factors impacting the job incorporating as deemed necessary.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • University Degree (preferably in computer science, Engineering or Information Technology)
  • MBA is an asset
  • 3 to 5 years of Technical Delivery or Solutioning Experience
  • Possesses leading edge technical knowledge
  • High level of proficiency demonstrated in a business environment with the last 5 years in the following:
    • Excellent knowledge of the iPhone Android Platforms
    • Mobile First Development environment
    • Web API Development (Rest and Soap)
    • Knowledge of J2EE, Play and other server side frameworks
    • Knowledge of Oracle DB and Cassandra
    • Agile Development (Scrum and Kanban)
  • Excellent communication (oral/written) and presentation skills
