Solutions Sales Specialist - Collaboration

In this exciting opportunity in our Rogers Ottawa location, the Solution Specialist will be responsible for delivering sales results for our collaboration suite of products, by developing integrated solutions for our enterprise customers.  As a successful Solution Specialist, you will build on your entrepreneurial spirit and will be expected to regularly meet and/or exceed defined revenue targets supporting the overall company objectives.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Achieve defined sales objectives for Collaboration suite of products
  • Qualify opportunities that are identified by Account Executives (AE) in-line with Rogers long term growth strategy
  • Work strategically with the Account Executive, leveraging your knowledge to promote and win business in competitive situations
  • In conjunction with the Account Executive, create and execute an overall Territory Plan comprised of specific coverage initiatives to achieve defined KPIs
  • Create innovative proposals and deliver strategic sales presentations, including Product demos, Data Centre tours, Solution presentations, (server and storage architecture and network design
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in accounts, specifically at the executive decision making level
  • In the role of the Collaboration Product Expert, actively participate in discovery meetings and reviewing the customer’s technical requirements using a consultative approach
  • Work closely with Account Executive & Solution Engineering to propose, design, price and close qualified opportunities.   Leverage all Rogers resources to help with design and document the best possible Rogers solution(s) based on the customer requirements (business, budgetary and technical)
  • Ensure that all opportunities, processes and procedures are completed and tracked through Rogers CRM (  Record/document all requirements and outcomes from meetings
  • Communicate the clients’ goals and represent their interests to internal teams. Provide regular two-way communication between the clients and teams to provide relevant representation and manage client expectations with respect to product solution, Rogers and Customer provisioning activities and reasonable provisioning timelines
  • Negotiate pricing to ensure profitable margins.  Follow the process for escalation of non-standard pricing to internal executives as required
  • Successfully manage the transition of ownership back to the Account Executive post project implementation
  • Review all major deliverables (i.e. strategic brief, function spec, tech spec, etc.) to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.
  • Research and prepare for all customer meetings


  • A track record of results in direct sales in multiple segments and verticals
  • A consistent sales overachiever who is results driven and customer focused
  • Strong technical background in collaboration products & services along with strong network skills
  • Consultative Sales individual who can complete business cases to support customers in the decision making processes
  • Proven ability to develop and foster senior-level relationships
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, contract and organizational skills
  • An effective communicator, demonstrating poise and confidence with customers
  • Comfortable and resilient in working in a continuous, fast-paced and changing industry
