We are looking for a Sr. HR Manager to oversee HR and Labour Relations in Rogers’ exciting Media Television unit, supporting our City and OMNI brands across the country, along with our specialty TV stations, including FX and FXX. This position is based in Toronto and reports to the Director, Human Resources. This individual is responsible for providing HR leadership and strategic partnership to the Senior Leadership teams in our Media Television units while supporting the day to day operations of the business. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be a key partner in supporting various HR/LR initiatives and strategic programs and projects spread across the full portfolio
  • Lead HR and LR agenda with the business, leveraging relationships and HR expertise to communicate policies and procedures, reinforce Rogers Values and strategic plan and demonstrate alignment between HR programs, business objectives and Rogers’ values.
  • Establish and maintain strong trusting relationships with the Senior Leadership team and their teams based on the demonstration of added value of the HR Function
  • Develop an awareness of business challenges and objectives in order to drive a proactive approach to Human Resources in an evolving media landscape
  • Provide consultation on labour relations issues including providing day-to-day interpretations and administration of collective agreements, handling grievance and discipline administration and participating as a key member of Company collective bargaining teams
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with the various union executives
  • Get involved in regional or national HR projects and programs: planning and implementing projects (timelines and milestones) for key initiatives.   
  • Provide coaching and guidance on talent and performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, compensation and organizational development
  • Understand the pulse of the organization at all levels and act as a conduit back into HR and to senior business leaders to enable positive employee engagement
  • Drive the development of the next generation of leaders across all levels of the organization. 
  • Keep current with industry leading best practices, customize and apply as relevant.

 

What you have:  

  • Undergraduate degree in related field. Master's degree in business administration or HR would be an asset
  • CHRP designation would be an asset
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive HR business partner experience, including working at a management level
  • Experience in dealing with labour relations and fostering effective union-management relationships, including experience participating in collective bargaining
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and confidential/sensitive information
  • Proven ability to impact and influence at all levels of the organization to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and rapidly changing matrix environment, driving alignment and results with/without direct authority.
  • Sound analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to understand broad complex business issues.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excel and Powerpoint skills highly beneficial
