Job Details

The Staff Accountant (Executive Department) will be responsible for accounting-related duties that focus on exceptional customer service to the family, positive, productive relations with KDM Group Managers and a high degree of confidentiality and discretion. The Staff Accountant (Executive Department) will also administer systems for all disbursements and payroll for the KDM group and be responsible for related government reporting.


Organize all incoming invoices and payment requests, audit accounts to ensure that payments are accurate and timely, and manage vendor relations

Provide a high level of customer service to KDM Group Managers and crew.

Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements

Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements

Compile budget data and documents based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets

Prepare period or cost statements or reports

Check work to make sure that final figures are correct, noting errors and the causes of any miscalculations

Work with Manager to develop sound processes and document all procedures for audit, coverage and succession purposes

Respond to Manager and family quickly, maintain positive relations with Operations Finance Staff and solve problems as required

Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends

Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, scanning and photocopying, supporting paperless initiatives

Perform other duties as required



Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting

Minimum 3 years working experience in accounting or finance required

High level of personal integrity, discretion and confidentiality

Confident, consistent, decisive personality with strong communication skills

Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines with positive attitude, on a flexible schedule

Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills

High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts

Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
