Mobile Development Managers at Rogers are passionate about native mobile app development and have a proven track record managing development teams. They know how to develop for the iOS platform and have experience with Objective-C. They have experience developing for Android and know the ins and outs of Google’s version of Java, the associated APIs and have some idea as to what “O” stands for.

What we want you to do


We are looking for an iOS/Android Development Manager who will be a critical leader of a new, forward-thinking, Digital IT team. You will manage mobile teams that develop native apps on either Android or iOS. These apps will respond quickly to user actions, have low power requirements and include functions that enable flawless, customer friendly user experience. You will creatively guide teams to produce interfaces that are not constrained by small form factors and work well on larger tablets. This role is based out of our downtown office but may expand to Brampton as well. 


The nuts and bolts


  • Oversee all development for iOS and Android
  • Project Planning
  • Resource Planning
  • Assist in the Release Management
  • Point of contact for other departments
  • Work closely with delivery manager to ensure completion of projects.
  • Development experience in one or more of Objective-C, Swift, or Java
  • Create applications for both Android or iOS
  • Guide developers and architects to create services that can be called without incurring excessive data use
  • Advise on initial unit testing of features in native mobile apps after they are developed
  • Work closely with UX and UI designers to help them understand the constraints of native mobile applications so that they produce usable designs  


Who you are 


  • A university graduate with a degree in engineering or computer science
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in guiding and managing teams that build native mobile apps
  • Knowledge of one or more of: Objective-C, iOS, Swift, Android Java and the APIs associated with each of these
  • You’ve demonstrated your ability to create native mobile applications
