WorkSafe BC Payments Coordinator, R11, Temporary greater than 7 months, Full-Time - Vancouver
Salary: $41,803.67 to $47,295.99 annually

The Liquor Distribution Branch is one of Canada’s largest distributors and retailers of beverage alcohol, generating a net income of approximately $1.03 billion on annual sales of approximately $3.16 billion in fiscal 2015/16. LDB has a workforce of approximately 4,000 full and part-time employees, operates 198 retail stores across the province, oversees the operations of approximately 220 Rural Agency Stores and has the role of wholesaler to approximately 700 private liquor retail outlets and 10,000 licensed establishments.
The WorkSafe BC Payments Coordinator coordinates WorkSafe BC (WSBC) claim payments and reconciliation. A central liaison between internal and external stakeholders (ie. LDB OHS department, WSBC, CRA, employee claimants), this position acts as a communication hub and ensures timely and accurate records of wage loss claim payments.  The position is also responsible for wage loss calculations related to insurance subrogation (ie. ICBC and GreatWest Life claims).

To be considered for this position, applicants must clearly indicate that they have the following:
Education and Recent, Related* Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent*, related experience combined with training and/or education in Payroll or Benefits administration.


Experience in WSBC claims administration, including payments and reconciliations, preferred.


Experience working with PeopleSoft, preferred.


Successful completion of Canadian Payroll Association – Payroll Compliance Practitioner certificate, preferred.


A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.


  • Solid understanding of payroll, benefits and WSBC claim principles and practices.


Working knowledge of various computer and software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook.


  • Strong analytical skills


Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to perform a variety of complex calculations and reconciliation


Ability to apply policies, agreements, and regulations and determine required action


Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills


Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload


Ability to work well independently and as part of a team


Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
